Stage 13, July 17: Muret – Rodez, 198.5 km

After three grueling days in the Pyrenees, the riders will once again face a classics-style transitional stage. Far from a flat sprinters’ stage, today’s parcours is markedly lumpy, especially in the second half, and ends in an uphill finish.

Shortly after crossing the river Tarn comes the 3rd-category Côte de Saint-Cirgue. The two 4th-category climbs, the Côte de la Pomparie and the Côte de la Selve, are found in a section of road that comes about 25 km later. After another upward jab at La Primaube (Km 188, uncategorized), the road descends almost all the way to the finish line in Rodez.

The final spike, the Côte Saint-Pierre (9.6% avg.), tilts sharply up 565 meters to the end.

Highlights:
Km 92.5: Intermediate sprint at Laboutarie.
Km 131: Côte de Saint-Cirgue (3rd category, 3.8-km climb at 5.8% avg.)
Km 156.5: Côte de la Pomparie (4th category, 2.8-km climb at 5% avg.)
Km 167: Côte de la Selve (4th category, 3.9-km climb at 3.7% avg.)
