Stage 3, August 21: Prades Conflent Canigó – Andorra la Vella, 158.5 km

Finish: 17:26-17:55

Stage 3 is the first contact with the mountains of this edition of La Vuelta. There’s no summit finish, but it will still be a tough day at the office for riders who covered more than 200 rapid and tense kilometers in Stage 2.

Three categorized climbs are on tap: The Col de la Perche (Cat. 1) beginning at kilometer 12, the Col de la Rabassa (Cat. 1) beginning at kilometer 114.2, and the Col de la Comella (Cat. 2) beginning at Km 147.1. More data below.

Climbs:

Km 31.5 – Col de la Perche: 1st cat., 19.5 km at 4.8% avg.

Km 127.5 – Coll de la Rabassa: 1st cat., 13.3 km at 6.8% avg.

Km 151.4 (7.1 km to go) – Alto de la Comella: 2nd cat., 4.3 km at 8.6% avg.
