Stage 11, August 30: Lorca – Observatorio Astronómico de Calar Alto, 187.5 km

Start: 13:20
Finish: 17:24-17:58

The riders head for a difficult finish at the Astronomical Observatory of Calar Alto today, arriving there after tackling two first-category climbs late in the stage.

The ascent to the Alto de Velifique starts officially at Km 144 (43.5 km to go), although the incline begins about 15 kilometers earlier. The final climb to the observatory starts at Km 172, 15.5 kilometers from the finish line.

Climbs:

Km 157.2 – Alto de Velefique: 1st cat., 13.2 km at 8.6% avg., 15% max.

Km 187.5 – Observatorio Astronómico de Calar Alto: 1st cat., 15.5 km at 5.9% avg., 12% max.
