Stage 19, September 8: Caso/Parque Natural de Redes – Gijón, 149.7 km

Neutral start: 13:37
Real racing: 13:50
Finish: 17:29-17:52

After two stage finishes in Cantabria, the race enters Asturias for Stage 19. Asturias is synonymous with climbing, so it’s no surprise that the road goes upward early, starting with the early slopes of 1st-category Alto de Colladona at Km 22. From that point there is little to no flat terrain, although the remaining 3rd-category climbs are nothing compared to what faces the riders tomorrow.

Km 29.0 – Alto de la Colladona: 1st cat., 7 km at 6.8% avg.

Km 64.8 – Alto de Sto. Emiliano: 3rd cat., 6.8 km at 4.5% avg.

Km 79.5 – Alto de la Falla de Los Lobos. La Casilla. AS-251: 3rd cat., 4.3 at 8.2% avg.

Km 134.5 – Alto de San Martín de Huerces: 3rd cat., 4.5 km at 7.2% avg.
