Alberto Contador is back on the bike Saturday, July 30, in the Clásica San Sebastián. The tough 220.2-km course starting and ending in the coastal city of San Sebastián (Donostia) features six climbs.

Contador is making his comeback from injuries sustained in two crashes in the Tour de France. His plan for the one-day classic is take it calmly and begin getting back to tempo for the Vuelta a España (August 20 – September 11).

He explained, “It’s a very demanding race where the cyclists who are coming from the Tour
have an advantage, due to being in form. It will be difficult to be at their level, but it
will be good if I can increase my pace.”

Start: 11:45
Finish between: 16:59-17:32
