Stage 4, March 9: Narni – Prati di Tivo, 173 km (Click for more information)

Stage 4 is the queen stage, and the only summit finish, of this edition of Tirreno-Adriatico.

There are three KOM contests:
Km 31.3 – Torca di Arrone
Km 132 – Passo delle Capannelle
Km 173 – Prati di Tivo (finish line)

Both intermediate sprint contests today are embedded in the climbs. The first occurs at Rocca di Corno (Km 90.5) at about halfway through the stage, just before the feedzone at the top of the climb to Sella di Corno. The second sprint is at 167.1, at about the mid-point of the final climb just where the slopes are the steepest. Bonifications apply.

The Stage 4 finale is a 14.5-km climb to the lovely town of Prati di Tivo. Twenty-two switchbacks mark an ascent of 12% average gradient, with a maximum of 12%, beginning at Km 167.1. The final 3 km of the slope are at 7% average.
