The only true Pyrenean summit finish in this year’s Vuelta arrives today after nearly 174.7 kilometers of upward slope. The 1st-category, 7.2-km climb of the Collada de Gallina, the finale (with 8% average gradient, 9% in the final 4 km), has never been included in the Vuelta before.
Only one other categorized climb is included today, the 2nd-category Alto de la Comella, a climb of 3.8 km at 5.2% that peaks at Km 158.2.
Sprint contests happen at Km 124 and 144.9.
