Stage 1, Saturday, August 18: Pamplona-Pamplona (TTT), 16.2 km,
The 2012 Vuelta a España begins in Pamplona with a team time trial on a flat urban circuit. There is an intermediate check point at about halfway through the course.
Update: Alberto Contador’s team finished the TTT in 7th place, 0:14 behind stage winners Movistar. Contador placed 35th in the GC.
